1. Always use fresh water (recycle already boiled water to potplants etc). 
2. Boiling water is essential - hot is not good enough. Always take the pot to the kettle. 
3. Warm the pot with a slosh of hot water. 
4. As a general rule add one teaspoon for each cup plus one for the pot (a medium sized pot requires at least 4 teaspoons). 
5. Add boiling water and let draw (steep) for 3-4 minutes. 
6. If you take milk, add milk to cup first and then pour tea - adding milk last scalds the milk and changes taste ( but note that recent research indicates that milk negates the antioxidant effect of tea).
